13-15 July, Kazan, Russian Federation
From obesity to gender to reinforcing ethical principles, sport ministers and senior officials representing 100 UNESCO Member states will determine actions with measurable results to provide inclusive access to sport among women and men of all ages and physical conditions, maximize the contribution of sport to sustainable development and protect the integrity of sport, including professional sport.
Some of the challenges MINEPS VI has set out to address:
Obesity is expected to kill more people than hunger worldwide;
Quality physical education makes better pupils and students across other disciplines;
Women hold fewer than 15% of leading positions in international sport organizations and only just above 20% in national sport.
