International IT-Forum-2013

International IT-Forum, held since 2008, is the biggest event dedicated to the development of the information societyand e-government in the Urals Federal District.

Forum is traditionally held under the auspices of the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO. Each year about 2,000 people attend the Forum.

The Forum brings together representatives of government, business, civil society, academic community and international organizations to share experience, develop and discuss practical solutions. In prior years, the Forum was attended by representatives of the Office of the President of the Russian Federation, the Russian Security Council, the Federal Assembly, the Ministry of Communications of the Russian Federation and a number of other federal organizations, the Office of the Plenipotentiary of the RF President in the Urals Federal District, Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, well-known Russian  IT companies,  Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO, international non-governmental organization “Northern Forum”, ECDL International Foundation («European Computer Driving License»), Presidential Council for the Development of Local Self-Government, etc.

Each year, the Forum includes conferences and exhibitions. In 2011, X Anniversary Interregional Conference “Information technologies and solutions for the development of the information society in Russia”, was held within the Forum, as well as the X Anniversary Exhibition “Information Technologies of the XXI century”, Research Conference “Legal Frame work for the Strategy of Information Society. Ensuring the Rights and Freedoms in the Information Society”, Ural stage of Russian Internet Forum “RIF – Ugra”, “Day of Clean Internet” and “Family Day”, as well as a series of round tables and video conferences.

V International IT Forum will be held  4-5 June 2013, under the motto “Information Society for All: Goals to Action”. The Government of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District – Ugra  and the Public Chamber of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District – Ugra, with the support and participation of the World Bank and the UNESCO Moscow Office.

The mission of the Forum is to discuss and promote the use of best practices that contribute to improving the quality of life through the use of information and communication technologies. The purpose of the Forum is to exchange Russian and international experience in the development of information society and analyze the proposed solutions.

IT-Forum 2013 will be attended by experts of federal and international levels, experts in the field of information from a variety of regions and municipalities of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District – Ugra.The leaders of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly and the key ministries and institutions involved in activities related to the development of information society in Russia are invited, including the Ministry of Communications, Ministry of Economic Development, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Regional Development of Russia, etc. Academic community will be represented by leading federal and regional research and educational institutions. Educational institutions, archival services, libraries and museums of Russia and Ugra are expected to participate in the Forum as well.

The Plenary Meetings to be attended by the Governor of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District – Ugra, heads of federal and regional authorities, representatives of the World Bank and UNESCO will discuss key issues in the development of the information society in Russia.
