It seems to me that ethical basis of journalism in new media environment hasn’t changed under the influence of new technologies. It’s a big mistake to think that a lie is a truth in Cyberspace and vice versa a truth is a lie there. A truth and a lie couldn’t change their places in Internet although some users can get confused very simply. But it’s their own mistake. We have a lot of examples in different times and countries, when newspaper readers, radio listeners and TV viewers became victims of official propaganda or false information by the private media. And it happened without new information and communication technologies. Without digital environment. Without Cyberspace. It’s my first point.

Today, on 2 April 2012, opened in the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris the seventh session of the Intergovernmental Council for the Information for All Programme (IFAP) unanimously re-elected Evgeny Ivanovich Kuzmin as the Chairman of the Intergovernmental Council for this UNESCO Programme. For the first time in the IFAP history its Chairman was elected for the second term of office.
